The German car maker is investing $1 bn. on its new Mexican plant even though the US president elect is talking about new taxes on imported vehicles. Other car makers are moving in the opposite direction. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is planning to produce 3 new Jeep models in the US and will move its RAM truck production from Mexico to the US. In Tweets Mr Trump has criticised General Motors because it builds cars for the US market in Mexico. He said, "General Motors is sending Mexican-made model of Chevy Cruze to US car dealers tax-free across [the] border. Make [them] in the USA or pay big border tax!" Toyota have also been threatened with a border tax because of its plans to build a plant in Mexico.
